I for one like the fact it takes removable batteries. The last portable sound system I had lasted about a year with its non-removable rechargeable battery and now it has to be tethered to the wall for power because the battery is dead. Plus with the removable batteries you will never run out of juice and have to wait for a recharge. For those complaining about batteries search Amazon for rechargeable D batteries and make sure you get the ones rated at 10,000 mAh or over and you won't look back. Buy 12 and a charger so you always have 6 fresh ready to go. I'm in the process of developing a rechargeable NiMH battery pack for this system and will keep all updated... We have an online music streaming service and we can play music from the app on our phones directly to the Beat Box. We also tested it with our son's 4G Ipod. The bass is pumping and you can hear the full range of the music. You can control the volume directly with your phone/ipod/ipad. We have been wanting a device that could play music through our online music service and this one is PERFECT!!! Funny though cause when we were done playing music, my husband began to play angry birds on his phone and the Beat Box was then playing sounds from the game, lol.***UPDATE*** After 2 months of use, it stopped turning on. Like it wasn't getting any power at all. I kept my box and receipt. The store I bought it from arranged for my replacement to be shipped because they were all out!! The new one arrived after 3 days which is quicker than I expected.
