5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Speaker, November 21, 2012
This review is from: Bowers & Wilkins A7 Wireless Music Speaker System with Subwoofer (Electronics)
Speaker has unbelievable sound! The Airplay set up is a pain and pretty tricky. I thought the unit was actually bad out of the box. Luckily I found the small reset button on the back of the speaker. I reset the unit and luckily the set up worked for me the second time around. I'm glad it worked too because this B & W speaker has great sound! It has great low end sound! The low end audio is where a lot of these wireless speakers or docked speakers miss out on. This is the best sounding speaker of this type I have heard, and I have heard most of them!

Pros:
Great sound! Great low end audio (has a good thump)! Only cable is the one that plugs in to the wall.

Cons:
Airplay set up is complicated. I had to use my reset button a couple times and delete the app and reload it.

the best price on amazon is $300 higher than msrp? i bought it from another online store for $799 and no tax.

i had a bose sounddock 10 which i liked. i'm no audiophile but i listen to a lot of music. there is something missing with bose. the base base is strong but not deep. voice and music all kinda just blend in together. high treble seems missing.

b&w a7 sounds richer and more solid. i'm not missing any frequencies. set up is easy. highly recommend

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound quality piss poor streaming, December 9, 2012

The sound quality is amazing however the Apple Air barely allows you to stream music any farther than 35 or 40 feet without skipping. I am using Time Warner cable Internet which is pinging at 18ms with a download speed of 15mbs and an upload speed of 2mbs. I am running a Netgear R6300 which is one of the fastest routers around. My modem is of equal quality.

The set up was not difficult and takes about 5 plus minutes.

My complaint is the lousy streaming capabilities not the excellent sound quality. If this system would have had a workable Airplay capability I would have rated it 5 stars. When you pay $867 the Airplay system should work.

Update 12/23/12; We just received Apple TV as a gift and connected it to a plasma TV which is about 4 feet further away than the spot we had the B&W A7 set up. If you recall the B&W would not stream to this location without skipping or long interruptions. The Apple TV is able to stream both music and video perfectly... Read more
